Conservation in the IWV: birds, gardens, and water. Information and Earth Day Activities for all ages.
Would you like to learn more about birds, wildlife, and plants in our Indian Wells Valley (IWV)?
Come to Maturango Museum on our Free Saturday to learn more about local birds and other wildlife, sustainable vegetable gardens, gardening with native plants, and providing vital water access for birds in our high desert. Information at this event will include:
1. Aguabonita Flyfishers (water quality conservation and Trout in the Classroom)
2. Quail Forever (wildlife guzzlers)
3. Ridgecrest Community Garden will have local food gardening information
4. IWV Water District conservation managers (plants and water)
5. Two environmental experts will share hiking and local plant knowledge.
6. A chemist/local gardener will share information about sustainable gardening and soil pH.
7. Eastern Kern Conservation Resources District will give information about its annual fall plant program and will have native seeds for sale.
Crafts, art, and game challenges will be available for all ages!
