This second edition of Maturango Museum Publication 16, The Epsom Salts Monorail, by Archaeology Curator Alexander K. “Sandy” Rogers is newly expanded, is in an 8 ½- by 11-inch format, and encompasses dozens of rare photos. Newly added photos come from the collections of Ivan Summers and the Searles Valley Historical Society.
One of the few commercial monorails in the world, a line that operated in 1924-26 to transport Epsom salts from a mine in the Panamint Range to the standard-gauge railroad near Trona.
